Maral Taskirici is an interdisciplinary artist with a focus on ceramics and design, driven by material exploration and handcraft. Her practice lies at the crossroads of collectible design and contemporary art. Working primarily with clay and hand-formed materials, she creates emotionally resonant, one of a kind pieces that transform familiar everyday objects such as vases, lighting objects, and tableware ceramics into sculptural forms rich with narrative and symbolism.

Her work explores themes of romanticism, feminine identity, and emotional entrapment. Through a visual language shaped by influences such as mythology, Gothic architecture, nature, and old-school tattoo culture, Maral constructs dreamlike yet critical worlds. Her objects often exude an initial sense of elegance and allure, gradually unveiling deeper, darker psychological layers beneath their ornate surfaces.

Maral’s approach is both intuitive and intentional—emphasizing material sensitivity, craftsmanship, and conceptual storytelling. Each piece is carefully hand-built and hand-painted, reinforcing her tactile connection to the medium and her attention to expressive detail. Her practice questions the boundaries between function, ornament, and meaning, offering works that are as much about personal experience as they are about collective memory and societal critique.

She has exhibited her work internationally at esteemed platforms such as Contemporary Istanbul, 1000 Vases, and COLLECTIBLE Brussels.
